Install 5chat Widget

Add live chat to your website in minutes

Official plugin with automatic updates and WordPress integration.

Install Plugin

Go to Plugins → Add New, search for "5chat", and install.

Configure Settings

Go to Settings → 5chat and paste your client token.

Get Client Token

Copy your token from 5chat dashboard Settings → Widget Settings.

Platform-Specific Setup

WordPress (Manual)

Option 1: Theme Customizer

Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS → Add custom code section

Option 2: Header Scripts Plugin

Install a "Header and Footer Scripts" plugin from the WordPress repository

💡 Recommended: Use the official WordPress plugin instead for easier management and automatic updates.

Shopify

Edit Theme Code

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes

  2. Click Actions → Edit Code

  3. Open theme.liquid file

  4. Paste the script before </head> tag

Wix

Add Custom Code

  1. Go to your Wix editor

  2. Click Settings → Advanced

  3. Select Custom Code

  4. Click Add Code to Head

  5. Paste your 5chat script and save
Squarespace

Code Injection

  1. Go to your Squarespace admin

  2. Navigate to Settings → Advanced

  3. Click Code Injection

  4. Paste script in Header section

  5. Save your changes
Google Tag Manager

Create Custom HTML Tag

  1. In GTM, click New Tag
  2. Choose Custom HTML as tag type
  3. Paste your 5chat widget script
  4. Set trigger to All Pages
  5. Submit and publish your changes

Verification

Check Installation

  1. 1. Visit your website - you should see the chat widget
  2. 2. Check your 5chat dashboard for "Installed" status
  3. 3. Click refresh if needed

Troubleshooting

Widget Not Showing?

• Clear cache and hard refresh (Ctrl+F5)
• Check placement - script must be before </head>
• Wait 2-3 minutes for changes to take effect
• Verify token - ensure you copied the complete script
